Ha Noi

Hanoi is a city that feels alive in every moment. From early mornings around Hoan Kiem Lake, where locals exercise and smile at each other, to evenings filled with lanterns, sizzling street food and the buzz of scooters — Hanoi has a rhythm, a warmth, and a depth that stays with you long after you leave.

 Why Visit Hanoi?

Hanoi is one of those places that doesn’t try to impress you with perfection, yet somehow leaves a strong mark on anyone who visits. It’s a city where daily life feels incredibly real: steaming bowls of pho in the morning, friends chatting on tiny stools, the constant hum of scooters, and small, beautiful moments that unfold everywhere if you slow down enough to notice them. The food alone is a reason to come — rich, comforting, full of character — while the mix of old temples, French architecture, leafy lakes and creative cafés gives the city a depth that’s hard to find elsewhere. Despite its chaos, Hanoi always offers calm corners to breathe, watch, and simply feel present. More than sightseeing, visiting Hanoi is about experiencing human warmth, rhythm, culture and flavour all blending together in a way that feels honest, emotional and unforgettable.

Top things to do in Ha Noi

  • Hoan Kiem Lake – an easy place to slow down, take a walk, watch daily life, and feel the rhythm of central Hanoi.
  • Hanoi Old Quarter – narrow streets, endless street food, buzzing energy and countless little shops that show the city’s character.
Long Bien Bridge – a historic railway bridge with incredible views, especially at sunrise or sunset, offering a raw and authentic side of Hanoi.
  • Ngoc Son Temple – a cultural landmark on the lake that blends history, spirituality and peaceful moments.
  • West Lake (Tay Ho) – wide open views, lakeside cafés, beautiful sunsets and a calmer atmosphere compared to the city centre.
  • Train Street – a unique railway street where trains pass incredibly close to homes and cafés, showing how urban life adapts in surprising ways.
  • Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university, a beautiful and meaningful place to understand Hanoi’s connection to learning and tradition.
  • Dong Xuan Market – busy, colourful and full of everything from local snacks to fabrics and souvenirs, ideal for curious explorers.
  • Thang Long Imperial Citadel – a UNESCO site where layers of Hanoi’s history are preserved in peaceful open grounds.
  • Local Food Streets – from Phở to Bún Chả  exploring real food areas gives you one of the most memorable experiences in Hanoi.

What is the best time to visit Ha Noi?

The best time to visit Hanoi is generally from October to April, when the weather is cooler, drier and more comfortable for walking, sightseeing and exploring the city at a relaxed pace. Autumn (around September to November) is especially beautiful with mild temperatures and soft golden light, while spring (March to April) is pleasant, fresh and lively. Winter, from December to February, can feel chilly and misty but adds a quiet, atmospheric charm, especially for café lovers. Summer, from May to August, is the hottest and most humid period with heavier rain, but it’s also when the city feels vibrant, green and energetic. No matter when you come, Hanoi has its own character in every season — it’s more about choosing the kind of atmosphere you want to experience.
